Thanos in the Avengers Geek
In recent years, the character's appearances have been mostly confined to Marvel's cosmic books like the titular The Thanos Imperative, which, while acclaimed and well-liked, tend to take place separately from the main action of Marvel's fictional world. Now, we will talk about: Who is Thanos? and Death incarnate.
Who is Thanos?
One of the last born Eternals on Saturn's moon Titan, Thanos lives his life for the soul purpose of conquering. After implanting himself with cybernetics, Thanos was exiled from his home planet for reasons that are still unclear.
Death incarnate
After traveling the universe, he met Death incarnate. In the form of a woman, Thanos became infatuated with Death. Thanos took an army and began conquering, starting with his home planet, to impress Death. He claimed the Cosmic cube and made himself into a god. After easily fighting off Captain America and the Avengers, Captain Marvel convinced Thanos that the cube was drained. After discarding the cube, Captain Marvel took the cube and restored balance to the Universe.
Afterwards Thanos continued his quest for power. Capturing the Soul Gems before being defeated by Warlock and incased in stone. Death revived him and granted him great power. He continued on his rampage and acquired the Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet.
Thanos maintains his status of one of the most powerful enemies in the Marvel Universe. When he wears the infinity gauntlet, he's arguably the most powerful being in the universe as the gauntlet can control every aspect of existence.
